Mackay & Stewart as a company was established in 1974 by Mr Ewan Mackay! previous to this, Ewan left school at the tender age of 15 years to embark on a career, in the manufacture and traditional design of handmade kilts, and Highland wear. Over the years, Ewan has accrued a vast knowledge of the history of kiltmaking and its design, as well as its uses. This aquired knowledge and skills are now!! at present being handed down to a new generation of craftsmen/women and kiltmakers, individuals who take the greatest of pride in their craftsmanship and expertise.
